Pumpkin Fun at Blaby Farmers’ Market

Shoppers and families with young children visiting Blaby Farmers’ Market on Saturday 25th October will not only have the chance to stock up on lots of fresh local produce but will also have the chance to enjoy activities celebrating the season’s harvest.

The very popular local Farmers’ Market held in the car park of Blaby Social Centre, Leicester Road, Blaby will feature a “decorated pumpkin lantern competition” that will be judged by the Vice Chairman of Blaby District Council, Councillor Alan Bailey. Children are invited to make a pumpkin lantern and brint it along to the market for judging at 11am.   Prizes will be awarded to the winning lanterns.

There’s also the chance to press your own apple juice from a selection of this season’s crop of apples.

Councillor Bailey said “Blaby Farmers’ Market is a successful event at the heart of the local community giving local people the chance to buy fresh local produce direct from the producers. I hope to see lots of interesting entries in the pumpkin competition”.
